IMF/World Bank Meetings

During the month of September 2006, iCELL Network showcased wireless broadband by providing free public indoor wireless coverage. This took place during the IMF event in September 2006, and coverage was extended through the Marina Bay area where the IMF event was centered.

iCELL Network designed, built and operated a wireless broadband infrastructure hotzone in the prime buildings at the Marina Centre area, including:

• Suntec International Convention & Exhibition Center
• Suntec City Mall
• Raffles City Shopping Center
• Citylink Mall
• Millenia Walk
• Marina Square Shopping Centre

In these areas, the public was offered:

• Free wireless broadband access of up to 512kbps per user
• Extensive and ubiquitous coverage in the designated locations
• Introduction to Free Wireless Broadband

In all, iCELL Network installed more than 200 APs and 10 controllers in addition to other networking equipment for the month-long deployment.
