ANTlabs selected for SingTel's and iCELL's multi-million dollar Wireless@SG rollout
SINGAPORE - Dec 1, 2006
Advanced Network Technology Laboratories (ANTlabs) is pleased to announce that both SingTel and iCELL Network have chosen ANTlabs' ezXcess™ Service Selection Gateway (SSG) to power the country-wide Wireless@SG programme.
Wireless@SG is a wireless broadband programme developed by IDA as part of its Next Generation National Infocomm Infrastructure initiative. Launched in December 2006, Wireless@SG provides users with free, seamless wireless broadband access at most public areas, with speeds of up to 512kbps. Local operators SingTel, iCELL and QMax were selected to provide the infrastructure and service.
Mr Aw Peng Soon, Vice-President of Business Development: "Operating a country-wide service like Wireless@SG is no trivial task and we are most privileged to offer our proven SSG to SingTel and iCELL for their multi-million dollar rollout. We have worked with both operators for many years and their continued confidence in us is testament to our product's superiority and reliability for which we have been credited with being the market leader in the ASEAN region with a 75% share of the access gateway market for telcos."
With ANTlabs' patented Tru'Connect technology, anyone with a WiFi capable device will be able to enjoy seamless connectivity to the Wireless@SG service and surf-on-the-go in a matter of minutes. This together with the advanced security features of the SSG that prevent MAC spoofing, DoS and other malicious attacks enable the service providers to provision the best possible customer experience in the fastest and most secured way possible.
ANTlabs ezXcess Service Selection Gateway is known for its reliability and scalability and these two factors are of paramount importance considering the sheer size and scope of Wireless@SG which can easily bring any operator to its knees with the risks arising from a user base numbering in the hundreds of thousands. The reliability of the SSG enables the operator to minimize support calls and its scalability allows them to cope easily with the numbers.
At present, there are about 900 Wireless@SG hotspots covering public areas with high human traffic such as the Central Business District, downtown shopping belts like Orchard Road, and HDB Town Centres. The number of hotspots is expected to increase to 5,000 by September 2007.
